Capitola 10k/6k

Welcome to the Capitola 10k, a 6.2-mile and 3.8 mile run/walk that starting in the heart of Capitola Village. The scenic route takes participants through vibrant Pleasure Point and along East Cliff Drive, providing breathtaking views of the majestic Monterey Bay. Continuing on East Cliff, participants reach the designated turn-around point before retracing their steps. As they make their way back, the course guides them past sandy beaches and renowned surf breaks, ultimately leading to the finish line nestled in the heart of Capitola Village. The Capitola 10k/6k promises not only a physically invigorating experience but also a journey through the picturesque coastal charm of the region.

Registration

 

Registration includes access to an amazing coastal course, chip timing and bib, custom finishers medallion, commemorative event shirt, course management and support and post event refreshments. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If for any reason the event can not take place in-person it will be produced virtually. If you can not participate in the 2024 event, please write to us following the event and your event shirt will be mailed to you. Medals are for finishers only.

Race Day Registration

Registration will be available near the start line race morning beginning at 7:00am.

Bib Pick-Up

Race Day Bib Pick-Up

Those unable to attend packet pick-up on Friday or Saturday, may pick up their bib race morning for $10.

Start/Finish

Start & Finish Location

The Start & Finish Line is located at the corner of Esplanade and San Jose Ave, at 203 Esplanade in Capitola Village.

8:10am: 6k

Race Day Parking

Capitola Village parking lots are located above Capitola Village and the Start/Finish. Access to Beach and Village Parking Lots 1 & 2 (Upper and Lower) is on Capitola Avenue, Bay Avenue and Monterey Avenue. Parking costs for these lots is FREE on event day until 11am.

 

Course Management

 

The course is managed at a 20 minute per mile pace. If you are passed by the event crew, you will be asked to move onto the sidewalk. Once you are on the sidewalk, you must follow all traffic laws deemed by the County of Santa Cruz.

Aid Stations

 

There are two course water stations located at approximately miles 2 and 4.

Restrooms

 

Restrooms will be available at the start, at each aid station and at the finish area.

Sweat Check

 

There will be a sweat check area near the Start/Finish line courtesy of Kennolyn Camps. 

 

Finish Area

 

Post race activities take place in Capitola Village near the beach. Participants pick up their surf inspired event shirts, receive post race food, and enjoy the finish celebration!

 

Medals & Awards

 

Each finisher will receive a commemorative finisher’s medal at the finish line.

Awards will be provided to the top three over-all male and female finishers.
